Quick links. Help and advice section for technical questions on your Corsa. Post by beany » Sun Oct 23, am hi all!! Re: redtop project? Post by beany » Sun Oct 23, am i dont mean to sound at all snobby in anyway but money isnt really a worry as i have no bills to pay at the moment lol, so all my wages will be going into this!

Post by beany » Sun Oct 23, am id like to know if its easy to buy a 2. I know a chap who does all redlines work work in manchester called beardy who a vauxhall God. Had a corsa and has a c20xe put in, excellent engine and great in a straight line, i just didnt dare turn the wheel with all the extra weight in the front of the car Now my Vts is so much fun when going round corners it makes up for it and i think just a lowered vts looks better than a Corsa B imo If i was to have another Corsa it would have to be the LET engine or a Corsa C with the LET engine.

Too many people doing DIY XE's now and tampering with them Like someone said earlier make sure you get a 'coscast' head as the others tend to get poorly quickly. My only gripe now is maybe the engine is abit old and you dont know its full history unless you have recipts of rebuilds etc not just a print out saying its got bhp which most will struggle with now due to their age. Fast as Ron?

Redtop is quick! I would rather a Redtop than a VTS.. Went to see one today, handling wasn't that bad tbh It had FK coilovers and brand new toyo tyres so that helps a bit.

I got dicked on by an xe : not to be messed with was a standard shitebox but was was running around bhp with a straight cut box. When i got outto have a look he laughed in my face when he popped the bonnet.

I simply quoted mine looks better. Well if you like the sound of driving round in what can only be described as a shed on wheels with an engine nearly 20 years old get the Corsa.

I'm sure you'll enjoy being cut out of it by the emergency services and seriously, who wants to be seen drving an effing Corsa B? Just go for a mint Vts - it makes sense. Pedals and interior on Corsa's are fucking naff, Sticking with Saxo's for a good while over Vauxhall.

Redtop Corsa for me. I don't think they look bad. Saxo isn't exactly the best looking car in the world is it? Anyway, I thought you were considering a Cliosport? Everything seems to be double on Clio sports i. The corsa would be quicker in a straight line but the sax will handle, personally id go for the vts as straightline pace isnt really my thing and IMO is the better looking of the two by far, but if these thing dont fuss you and your getting a good deal id say go for the corsa.

Richie was in the car on the way back from collecting the carbon bonnet. Kid looked gutted like However they are quicker than standard vts' and ive a soft spot for corsas keep it shush though. Ron, I'm sure if you spend similar amount of money on a xe it will perform as good as yours. Sold the this morning. Not sure which one to get! Can't find a decent vts though. Have still got the printout mate, If you are just looking for a quick cheap car the corsa has got to be the best for the money.

C20 XE's are nippy off the mark, stripped out they'll hang with a no probs, however a C20LET will tear most things a new arsehole Mr Burns. Swift Sport. I ruined a redtop turbo Corsa the other night, it didn't handle and he couldn't get traction on the damp road. I went past while he was 'spinning up' and by the time we'd got to a bend I was gone! On a dry, straight road though I'm sure it'd be a different story! Clio dci 80 Ive built a few XE novas, and more recently a XE fiat seicento which did make a few people look twice on the motorway.

I love clio's, but a decent redtop nova would easily play around with a If you are interested, then you would be best to look for a coscast engine, as these are the best of the xe range, as its a cosworth head, and doesnt have the porus problems found on some of the engines.

The parts are cheap, but make sure if your buying a car already built that it is welded correctly. They need to be stitch welded or seam welded , and preferably with a plating kit fitted, which is basically some plates cut to size and fit where there could be strain, to make the front end more solid.

Dont touch a rotton or rusty shell, as if you do have an accident in one, its a heavy engine to have sat on your lap. Finally, make sure the brakes are the mm upgrade and you have decent driveshafts.

There are some built for the xe conversion, using bigger hubs etc, and then there are welded cut and shuts, which id avoid as if one snaps you will be stranded, if not worse. Think the gsi shafts are a straight swap from memory on a nova.. Its worth taking a look anyhow when buying a car if you do Ive always gone down the route of getting the shell, and engine seperate, and building my own, as that way you know whats been done, and that no corners have been cut.

Ive seen a few out there with fuel pumps on top of the battery, ecu's in bin bags waterproofed lol in the engine bay Just shocking dangerous stuff! My old nova conversion.. And my more upto date 2. That Seicento is Crrrraaazzzzzzyyyyyy! S3 Sportback, Ninja. SteBurns said:. Saw your Sei on ebay Madmodz, was impressed having been a Cinq owner a few years back.

Mate had a corsa B with tigra conversion done by Jam-sport and kept up with me. Corners wasn't the best though. I'm finding that statement to be untrue ATM. Can't find what I want any cheaper than what they were 4 years ago. L ClioSport Club Member. Can be quite fun tho. Saab 93 Aero Wagon. They could be sub 3 second cars good for mph Christopher ClioSport Club Member.
