So now when you get a second thought about that email you were about to send, you can quickly stop it from going even after clicking send button.
How about more than 30 seconds? Sometimes you're sending something confidential and maybe would want your recipient to access it for hours or days after which they shouldn't. There is no way to do this directly in Gmail however, we can still achieve this with Google Docs.
Type message in Google Docs. Use Google Docs to type your message instead of typing it directly in the compose form. Remember your can as well use Google sheet, slides, whatever suites your purpose. Go to 'Share'.
Go to ' File ' then click on ' Share ' option. Click on 'Advanced'. Next, click on 'Advanced' link at the bottom of the popup window. Click on clock icon. To set document expiration time, click on the clock icon. Set expiration period. You choose from predefined dates, or choose a cutom date from a calendar. After you've set your preferred time of expiration click 'Save' button. Click on 'Drive' icon. If you are worried about sending the wrong email, you probably want to set the cancellation period to at least 10 seconds, just to be safe.
Step 1: With the Gmail web client open, click the big Compose button. If you have another email account, use that instead. Step 4: A "Message Sent" pop-up appears in the bottom left corner, as shown here. Click the Undo link to recall the email. Step 5: In a second pop-up window, click the blue OK button to confirm.
Step 6: Your unsent email should now be on your screen as a draft. It's late, you're tired and you accidentally just emailed an angry rant about your boss to her, instead of to the co-worker it was intended for. It's probably too late to do anything about that email. But by making a few simple tweaks to Gmail or Outlook you can greatly reduce the chances of future email slip-ups ruining your life.
Gmail doesn't have a traditional "recall" function like Outlook. Instead, it has a function you can enable that allows you to "unsend" a message within a certain amount of time. Things are a bit different in Outlook, where you'll need to recall a message instead of relying on a delay to cancel it entirely.
There's no guarantee the message hasn't been opened, and sometimes it only works within your organization depending on settings.
